Random Fact: In 1917 White Spanish colonizers brought the Spanish flu to South America which resulted in 24 million deaths of the Amazon’s indigenous tribes, 95% of the indigenous people died. A year later, in 1918, the Spanish flu spread through more European colonizers resulting in more than 100 million deaths world wide, 5% of the world’s population. Disease in these parts of the world had not been present, or existed until European colonizers showed up.
